Introduction

Gigabyte has certainly shown itself to be an excellent manufacturer of both motherboards, and graphics cards - as proven by the many products they've sent to us for testing. This time, it is the own Gigabyte's Nvidia GeForce 2 GTS based graphic card, the GA-GF2000 - that we'll be reviewing.

The GF2000 - which you can see pictured to the opposite of these words - comes supplied with 32MB of DDR-SDRAM, clocked at 166MHz, thus providing an effective memory rate of 333MHz.

The GF2000 also stays very close to the Nvidia reference design, and so lacks both video-out, and S-Video out capabilities. What we have then is a standard GTS video card, stripped of extras, and dedicated exclusively to rendering graphics.

One final thing that we'd like to note before heading on into the thick of things, is that Gigabyte - contrary to many of its competitors - has also chosen to supply several games & utilities with its newest offspring, which we'll describe later on in the article.

Last but not least, at the end of this page, you can also find a full list of the GF2000's specifications, as supplied by the manufacturer.
