Technical details

The standard amount of space has been provided around the CPU socket in order to fit a P4 heatsink.

The memory slots are located far enough from the AGP port that there is little chance of a retention bar coming into contact with the graphics card when installing memory. .

The voltage regulation circuits are of the triple phase, bi-Mosfets variety.

Nine 3300mfds, and four 1500mfds capacitors have been placed around the CPU socket.

The ATX connector is located on the North side of the motherboard, behind the CPU. Next to the ATX connector is an EZplug connector which allows users who don't possess a proper P4 power-supply to to still plug-in and supply the right voltage. The 12v connector, for its part, is located in the SouthWest corner.

The CPU retention bar is made of plastic, so handle with care

10/100Base-T Ethernet is provided by an Intel 82562ET PHY.

This board has the "Q-Fan" technology, which allows the speed of the CPU-fan to be adjusted in response to changes in the temperature of the processor.

Asus C.O.P., and Asus Post Reporter technologies are included, which protect the CPU from overheating, and vocally alert the users of any troubles encountered at start-up.

A thermal sensor connector is present.

And finally, the BIOS can be rolled-back to the last batch of valid settings by pressing "CTRL + Insert" at start-up.
