Additional features

Additional features of the DFI CS35-EC motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for mice & keyboards, 2 internal USB connectors, 2 external USB connectors, SB-Link, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared communication, and start-up from the mouse/keyboard/USB ports, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also provided as a standard feature on this PC99-compliant motherboard. Finally, the CS35-EC includes integrated AC"97/98, and i752 AGP 3D, sound and graphics cards.

Installation

Installation of the CS35-EC is quite simple. Thanks to its "jumperless" design there is no real read to fiddle with JP9, and JP10, as there default settings suffice in the majority of cases, by allowing the FSB frequency to be determined automaticly. In short, simply install the board in a casing, plug it in, boot-up, and make a quick pass through the BIOS to finalize any adjustments.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes patches for the Intel i815 chipset, drivers for both the onboard sound & graphics cards, various Yamaha applications to complement the sound card, Hardware Doctor for monitoring the hardware from within Windows, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital version of the user's manual, PC-cillin 2000, and Microsoft DirectX 7.0.



The hardware bundle

The CS35-EC is also accompanied by a small hardware pack that includes an 80-pin ATA66/100 cable, and a disk-drive cable.
