Introduction

DFI has always had a diverse catalog. In fact, if there's a new trend in motherboard industry, you can usually count on DFI hit the ground running. With that in mind, we'll be presenting you to the DFI AK75-EC, a feature-rich board based on the VIA KT133A chipset. So let's get a closer look, shall we?

Configuration

In the AK75-EC's case, full configuration of the CPU is done purely from within the confines of the BIOS.

In fact, if you take a look at the board itself, you'll only find a single Dip switch array labeled SW1 - which can be used to set the clock multiplier, and jumper JP10 - which can set the FSB to 100MHz or 133MHz.

Alternatively, user's can opt to set the FSB from within the BIOS, using the "Frequency/Voltage Control" menu.

From there, it's also possible to set the Vcore voltage as indicated by the table above..

Last but not least, a variety of memory settings can also be adjusted through the "Advanced Chipset Features" menu, as is the case with most motherboards currently on the market.
