Additional features
Additional features of the DFI AK74-SC include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for mice & keyboard, 2 USB ports located on the back panel, 2 USB ports located on the board itself, Power Faliure Recovery, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared communication, and start-up from the mouse/keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also provided as a standard feature on this PC99-compliant motherboard. An integrated AC"97 sound-card is also provided as standard equipment.

Installation
Installation of the DFI AK74-SC is extremely simple. Since there are no jumpers to play with, simply put it in a casing, plug it in, and away you go.
The software bundle
The installation CD contains the VIA 4-in-1 drivers v4.23, drivers for the integrated sound card, several Yamaha sound applications, Hardware Doctor for monitoring the hardware under Windows, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital version of the user's manual, PC-Cillin 2000, and Microsoft DirectX 7.0.
The hardware bundle
The AK74-SC comes accompanied by a small set of hardware which includes an 80-pin ATA/66 cable, and a floppy-drive cable.
