Additional features

Additional features of the Epox 8K5A3+ motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, 6 USB ports - two of which are located on the back panel, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.

The Epox 8K5A3+ also includes a four-channel ATA133 Highpoint HPT374 RAID controller (supports mode 0, 1, and 0+1), a 10/100Base-T Ethernet controller, and an integrated Realtelk ALC650 sound-card.

Installation

Installation of the Epox 8K5A3+ is quite simple, since there are no jumpers to configure. Simply place the board in a case, plug in, boot-up, and drop into the BIOS to make any adjustments

Software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4.38v patches, drivers for the sound-card, drivers for the USB 2.0 controller, drivers for the RAID controller, drivers for the network card, Adobe Acrobat Reader, the Magic Flash BIOS utility, Ghost 7, Avance Media Player, and PC-Cilling 2000.

Hardware bundle

The Epox 8K5A3+ comes with: one 80-pin ATA133 cable, a floppy-drive cable, a backplate with a pair of USB connectors, a game connector, and a cache for the ports on the rear of the system.
