Introduction

Today, we will discover the new products of AMD, CoolerMaster, Asus, Zalman and Nvidia manufacturers.

AMD

Without a single doubt, AMD's newest flagship is the Opteron processor. This 64-bit processor can be used in multiprocessors environment scalable from 2 to 32 processeurs while keeping a total compatibility with 32-bit applications and operating systems. Manufactured with the 0.13 micron manufacturing process, this processors has over 100 million transistors and is a true technological breakthrough by incorporating its own memory controller to obtain an extremely low latency . Taking into account that the Opteron is incorporating the Hyper-Transport technology, exponential performance increases are obtained when used in multiprocessors environment because the Hyper-Transport technology establishes direct links between each processors. Below is the Newisys 1U dual processors server inluding two Opteron processors where we clearly see that each processor is using its own set of memory connectors.

The Newisys server is capable of supporting 16Gb of DDR333 memory and is including a U320 SCSI controller, one PCI-X 133Mhz 64-bit connector, one PCI-X 66Mhz 64-bit connector and an inboard SVGA controller.
